In 2004 the South Georgia Conference Museum Committee began a new initiative to provide support for the Museum. it is called "Friends of the Museum."

Its purpose is to build a great body of dedicated persons in the South Georgia Conference who can help the cause of the Museum in a number of ways.

There is a need to capital funding for expansion of the facility. While the Conference provides limited funds for the operating budget each year, significant additional funding is needed to utilize the second floor of the building and make it a part of the Museum.

There is a need for many more United Methodists in South Georgia to become aware of and develop a deep pride in the Arthur J. Moore Methodist Museum!

"Friends of the Museum" is growing rapidly in numbers, and they are talking to others about this valuable "jewel" that we refer to as our "Pearl of Great Price!" Funds from generous persons are being given and more is on the way from new "Friends."

I am proud to be a part of the Conference Museum Committee!

I also am glad to be a "Friend of the Museum!"

Several years before my husband became Bishop here, he and I visited the Museum for the first time. We both were greatly impressed with this wonderful assest of the South Georgia Conference!

It is important these steps be taken now to assure the people of South Georgia of the continuing growth of this Museum and its unique services for the present and future generations.

I invite you to become a "Friend of the Museum" today!

I urge you to ask others to also become "Friends!"
